Localization of BRRN1, the human homologue of Drosophila barr, to 2q11.2.

چکیده
cDNA probe confirmed that BRRN1 maps to chromosome 2 Localization of BRRN1, the Human (Fig. 1A) (14). To identify BRRN1-containing YAC clones we screened the Homologue of Drosophila barr, CEPH-Mark II YAC library by PCR. We used two oligonucleoto 2q11.2 tide primer pairs designed to yield PCR products corresponding to positions 448–625 (primer set I) and 2229–2402 Olga A. Cabello,* Antonio Baldini,* Manzoor Bhat,† (primer set II) in the BRRN1 cDNA. Both sets of primers Hugo Bellen,*‡ and John W. Belmont*§ yielded unique PCR amplification products on human genomic DNA template. Seven of the PCR-positive clones also exhibited BRRN1 hybridization on Southern analysis. Clone *Department of Molecular and Human Genetics, †Howard Hughes Medical Institute, ‡Department of Cell Biology, and §Departments of 539D8 encompassed all restriction fragments identified by Microbiology & Immunology and Pediatrics, Baylor College of Medicine, the genomic Southern blots (Fig. 1A). Alu-PCR products of Houston, Texas 77030 YAC 539D8 were prepared as previously described (1) and used as probes for FISH, yielding a discrete hybridization

Molecular Characterization of the Epstein-Barr Virus BGLF2 Gene, its Expression, and Subcellular Localization
Background: Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) is a universal herpes virus which can cause a life-long and largely asymptomatic infection in the human population. However, the exact pathogenesis of the EBV infection is not well known. Objective: A comprehensive bioinformatics prediction was carried out for investigating the molecular properties of the BGLF2 and to a...
متن کاملRab11 is required for maintenance of cell shape via βPS integrin mediated cell adhesion in Drosophila
In eukaryotes, vesicle trafficking is regulated by the small monomeric GTPases of the Rab protein family. Rab11, (a subfamily of the Ypt/Rab gene family) an evolutionarily conserved, ubiquitously expressed subfamily of small monomeric Rab GTPases, has been implicated in regulating vesicular trafficking through the recycling of endosomal compartment. In an earlier communication, we have shown th...
متن کاملNEP, ACE and Homologues: The Pathophysiology of Membrane Metalloproteases
The zinc metalloprotease, neprilysin (NEP), plays a role in the metabolism of cardiovascular, inflammatory and neuropeptides, including mitogenic peptides such as bombesin. In the cardiovascular system, NEP has a primary role in the inactivation of natriuretic peptides but also contributes to local metabolism of angiotensin, endothelins and bradykinin. Hence NEP is seen as a potential therapeut...
متن کاملTHE IN VITRO GROWTH PROPERTIES OF CELL LINES FROM EPSTEIN-BARR VIRUS-INDUCED TAMARIN TUMORS AND TAMARIN B CELLS TR ANSFORMED BY EPSTEIN BARR VIRUS
EBV-carrying human cell lines, depending on whether the cells are derived from Burkitt's lymphoma (BL) tumor biopsies or transformed by EBV in vitro, have different growth properties in vitro. In contrast, there are no clear differences between tamarin tumor lines and tamarin LCLs in vitro. Both types of tamarin cell lines could grow in agarose and formed colonies unlike human LCLs, althoug...
متن کاملThe relationship between Human Papillomavirus and Epstein-Barr virus infections with breast cancer of Iranian patients
Background: Breast cancer is the malignancy in humans and other mammals. Several risk factors are involved in their appearance such as higher hormone levels and obesity. Identification of a mouse mammary tumor virus supports a viral etiology for breast tumors in animals. Viruses have been implicated in the development of various cancers, but viral induction for formation breast cancer is contro...
